Vice City is the oldestGTA’s formula at its best, but some of its inherent technical aspects and older gameplay conventions are dated, especially when compared to newer free single-player sandbox hiking games such as the Just Cause or Far Cry series. The jump and eye controls are satisfactory but lack the fluidity and intuition modern gamers expect, and the lack of swim controls is downright stupid to play, including a simple boxed boat for the latest GTA, Vice City is simple and awkward. The camera in the game is heavy and leads to disappointing collisions on objects and unintentionally lost curves. Unfortunately, the steering of the boat hasn’t improved either and missions like the Diaz yacht are so bad they are often better.
